Soil Science Option in
Environmental Resource Management (ERM)

 The earth

Soil links earth, atmosphere, water, and terrestrial life and controls the availability of nearly every life-sustaining resource. In the Soil Science Option you will use biology, hydrology, chemistry, and physics to study the soil-based processes that shape, preserve, and protect our environment. Graduating with an Environmental Resource Management (ERM) degree with the Soil Science Option opens many career opportunities to you in fields related to environmental protection, sustainable management of natural resources, agriculture, and forestry.

As a student in the Soil Science Option of ERM, you will deal with real-world problems. You will apply biology, chemistry, earth sciences, ecology, hydrology, mineralogy, mathematics, and physics to environmental protection and sustainable management of natural resources. And you will do this using a high-tech toolbox that includes geographic information systems, remote sensing, environmental modeling, microscopy, and spectroscopy, to name a few.

If you’re a person who is interested in natural resources and environmental sciences, then the Soil Science Option of ERM has what you’re looking for.
